Karen Cauble, became an Alaskan in
April of 1984 when she took a position as
head cook for an Alaskan summer fishing lodge
at Lake Illiama. She worked in bush Alaska
for three years as a mental health professional,
and also for child protection in Anchorage.
In 1987 and 1988, Karen again worked as a
cook on the tugboat/barge operation on the
Yukon River. These experiences are all reflected
in her travel adventure cookbook "33
Days Hath September" published in 1992
by Vanessa Press. Her book can be found in the living room's Alaskana
bookshelf, with other local Homer authors. An extensive video DVD &
book library is also available in the downstairs sitting area. Karen
recently converted Skyline from a Bed & Breakfast, which she managed
for 13 years, to a Vacation Home Rental. |
